Apr 20, 2018He was born in Pike County, March 24, 1966, the son of the late William and Louise Gilliam Adkins.He worked in construction and was of the Baptist faith.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Drema Marrs; one niece, Wendy Bray; and two nephews, Joshua Morgan and Jason Blair.He is survived by four sisters, Peggy Tackett, Sharon Blair and Lynn Morgan, all of Mt. Sterling and Rhonda Thacker of Pikeville; and one brother, John David Adkins of Shelbiana.Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at the Dan Adkins Cemetery, Fords Branch. He was born at Independence, Va., to the late James A. and Emma Fleenor Barb. He worked in construction for 50 years in Bristol and Pikeville and was a member of West Hill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Claude Barb; one son, William Ronald “Ronnie” Barb; and one great-grandson, William Mason Barb. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Eva Carter Barb; two sons, J.T. Barb Jr. (Delores) and Tim Barb (Brenta); one daughter, Kathy Huffman (Bob); one daughter-in-law, Deena Barb; seven grandchildren, Jamie Barb, Ryan Barb, Wesley Barb, Jody Huffman, Daniel Huffman, Kaylyn Barb and Ty Abram Barb; 10 great-grandchildren, Zack Barb, Jake Barb, Kelsie Barb, Mazie Huffman, Jade Barb, Emily Barb, Harliegh Barb, Abbie Barb, Mackenzie Barb and Hunter Barb; and one great-great-grandson, James Mason Barb.Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
